A Note From the Couple

We can't imagine celebrating without you.

Sonya grew up in Nashua, New Hampshire, and Tyler in Newmarket. We met at Plymouth State University and became instant friends. Our relationship didn't blossom into romance until the universe brought us back together three years post-grad. We crossed paths again at Hampton Beach and have been together ever since.

Tyler thought he was being sneaky by asking Sonya for a walk on Hampton Beach before her birthday dinner. The engagement party that awaited certainly was though.

As a pair of wanderlusts ourselves, a destination wedding has always been the dream for us. We acknowledge it's such a big ask, but we would be honored if you would join us in Mexico for a trip we will always remember.

Our group is at the resort October 21 to 28, 2027, with the wedding on Tuesday, October 26 at 5:00 PM. A three-night minimum stay applies, and the group rate also covers the three days either side of those dates if you would like to arrive early or stay on.

Heaven

Adults only

Every room on the Heaven side is adults only, with no guests under 18. Most of the block sits here, including the swim-up king, the Sky Terrace, Rock Royalty and both Rock Suites.

Hacienda

Children welcome

The Hacienda side takes children, and they stay free. In this block that is the Deluxe Gold King, which sleeps two adults plus one child aged 12 or under.

Travelling with a teenager? The rooms that take 13 to 17 year olds sit on the Hacienda side but are not part of the group block yet. Message Stephanie before you book and she will ask the resort about opening one up.

A note on children. The Heaven side is adults only. A small number of rooms on the Hacienda side can take one child aged 12 or under. If you are travelling with children or teenagers, please message Stephanie before you book so she can check what is available.

What to Wear

Dress Code: Tropical Chic

Our wedding will be tropical chic. While we encourage everyone to dress to impress, we are totally fine with casual beach attire too. Cabana shirts and khaki shorts for the guys, and sundresses for the ladies, all work beautifully.

One request from the couple: please wear white. Guys, khaki shorts are welcome.

Think light, breezy, and dressed up for a beach celebration. Sonya and Tyler have asked guests to wear white, so lean into linens, whites, and warm-weather fabrics that keep you cool from the ceremony through the evening.

Frequently Asked Questions

Before You Book

Use the official Reserve Your Room links at the bottom of this page. There are two, one for the Hacienda side and one for the Heaven side, since our block is split across both. Each guest books their own room, and a $200 per room charge secures your reservation on the card you use. The block is limited, so earlier is better.
Our group rate and everything the couple has arranged only apply to rooms booked through the official links. Booking anywhere else means the resort charges $100 USD per person for each wedding event, so please use the links here to keep it simple and avoid that charge.
Your balance is charged automatically on August 22, 2027, which is 60 days before travel, to the same card you booked with. If you need to update that card, let Stephanie know at least one week beforehand. The booking link also closes on August 22.
Your room is guaranteed with a Visa credit card that stays valid through your departure date. The resort accepts one credit card per reservation, so the card you book with is the card your balance is charged to on August 22, 2027. If you need to change that card before then, let Stephanie know at least one week before the cut-off.
Plans can change, so here is how the resort handles cancellations once you have booked. If you cancel 90 to 61 days before arrival, your $200 room charge is non-refundable. If you cancel 60 to 31 days before arrival, the resort assesses 50% of your total room cost. If you cancel within 30 days of travel, the booking is non-refundable. Because of this, travel insurance is worth considering, and Stephanie is happy to talk the options through with you.
Nearly everything is already covered by your all-inclusive rate. For anything extra, such as the spa, a premium excursion or a specialty dinner, the resort takes payment by card or in US dollars. Mexican pesos are not accepted at the resort, so there is no need to change money before you fly. If you are putting your $200 nightly resort credit toward one of those extras, note that the resort applies a 35% redemption fee when you spend it.

They are the two sides of Hard Rock Hotel Riviera Maya. Our block holds rooms in both, with most categories on the Heaven side. When you open the booking links you'll see the rooms available on each side, so you can pick the one that suits you.
You'll need a valid passport to travel to Mexico. Check that it will be valid for the dates of your trip, and if you need to renew, start early so it arrives in time.
The nearest airport is Cancun International (CUN). Your group room rate includes roundtrip airport transportation for two guests, so your transfer to and from the resort is already arranged. If your party is larger, let Stephanie know and she can help with the rest.
Guests who are not staying at Hard Rock Hotel Riviera Maya can attend the wedding with a day pass, which the resort charges at $166 USD per person, per day. Staying at the resort is the easiest way to be part of the whole celebration.
