We chose Tenerife as the place to celebrate because it sits halfway between the two places we call home.

We're getting married, and we want YOU there! Tenerife brings both of our families together for a day that means so much to us. We know that traveling this far is a big ask, and we don't take that commitment lightly.

That's why we've planned an intimate celebration surrounded by the people who are nearest and dearest to us. Every detail has been thoughtfully chosen with our guests in mind, with the hope that this won't just be a wedding, but an unforgettable experience that we can all share together.

It wouldn't be the same without you, and we truly hope you'll join us in Tenerife to celebrate the beginning of this next chapter together.

How We Got Here

How We Met

Kassidy and Nelius first met at Slater First Baptist Church. During Kassidy's second week attending, Nelius got up to speak, and Kassidy's sister, Kylie, leaned over and told her how cute he was. When Nelius mentioned that he was from South Africa, Kassidy figured there was no way anything would ever come of it.

That changed when the pastor's wife, Patty Jo, stopped Kassidy before church one Sunday and asked if she knew Nelius. Kassidy said yes, and Patty Jo let her in on a little secret: Nelius thought Kassidy was pretty, but was too nervous to talk to her.

Not long after, the two started playing pickleball together at their local pickleball club. What began as a friendship quickly turned into something much more. They became best friends and, from that point on, haven't stopped finding reasons to spend time together.

The Proposal

After dinner one evening, Nelius received a call from his host mom, Marita, asking if he could help move a pool table from the youth room at Slater First Baptist Church. Since the church was on their way home, the two stopped by to help.

But when they walked through the doors, Kassidy realized this was not about moving a pool table. The aisle and altar were covered in candles, and Nelius led her to the front of the church, the very place where they had first laid eyes on each other.

He held her hands, told her all the things he loved about her, and the two shared a moment reading from the Bible together. Then Nelius got down on one knee and asked Kassidy to marry him.

As Kassidy said yes, family and friends stepped out from their hiding places to surprise them and celebrate the moment together. What started as an ordinary stop to help move a pool table became one of the most unforgettable nights of their lives.

Frequently Asked Questions

Before You Book

Booking opens as soon as the group rates with the resort are final. In the meantime, email or call Stephanie and she'll let you know the moment rooms are available.
Several families in the group are traveling with little ones. Tell Stephanie your children's ages when you get in touch, and she'll match you with the right room and rate.
Kassidy and Nelius would love that. Stephanie works with a local travel partner in Spain who can arrange extra nights and tours, so tell her what you'd like to see and she'll put together a plan that suits you.
Registry details to be added

Travel to Spain

You'll need a passport valid for at least three months after your return date (Stephanie recommends six, for peace of mind), issued within the last ten years. US citizens staying under 90 days don't need a visa. If you travel on a passport from another country, let Stephanie know and she'll check your requirements for you.
Europe now registers non-EU travelers digitally with a quick photo and fingerprints at your first entry, in place of a passport stamp. There's nothing to do in advance, so just allow a few extra minutes at the airport. A small online travel authorization (ETIAS) is also on its way for Americans, but it isn't required yet, and Stephanie will let everyone know if it applies to your trip.
Stephanie will name the best arrival airport as soon as plans are final and post it right here. Please wait for her recommendation before you book any flights.
Spain uses the euro. When a card machine offers to charge you in dollars, choose euros, as it's usually the better rate. Tipping is much lighter than in the US: service is usually included, and a tip is a thank-you for great service rather than an expectation.
